The Problem: Moving from OpenCart to WooCommerce in Two Languages
The planned move involved products, customers and orders, alongside a new design for the storefront. Makriadis wanted a website suited to a high-end jewelry brand, with clear navigation and a consistent experience across devices.
The brief also included Nivoda natural-white and lab-grown-white diamonds, three jewelry builder types and Greek and English language support. EUR, USD and GBP were included in the currency requirements.
These needs made the project more involved than translating a set of pages. Customers had to be able to browse products, choose options and use jewelry-building features within the language they selected.
The main development challenge was the connection between those layers. Product information, customer-facing labels and the controls behind the builders needed to work together.
WooCommerce Jewelry Website Development around Product Selection
The design brief described different ways to present diamond information on desktop and mobile.
On desktop, the diamond-selection module was planned around a table layout. On mobile, it called for collapsible cards. Both approaches served the same purpose: helping customers review diamonds in the space available on their device.
The builder requirements also connected diamond filters with setting selection, a preview and price updates. This provided a more detailed direction than simply asking for a ring-builder page.
TPS’s work included testing listing and detail pages across the ring, pendant and earring builders. That brought attention to both the initial selection screen and the closer view of a product.
Testing these stages together was important to the project because customers move between them while considering a piece. A builder’s listing and detail page are parts of the same purchase decision.

Making Greek and English Work beyond the Page Text
A specific issue appeared in the Greek-language interface: diamond icons were missing.
The problem was linked to the identifiers used for product-attribute options. These identifiers are the values the website uses to recognize an option behind its visible label.
TPS resolved the issue by changing the attribute-option identifiers to English. This addressed the connection used by the implementation while allowing the customer-facing experience to remain in Greek.
The fix is a concrete example of the work involved in multilingual jewelry development. Translating the visible words was only one part of the job. The controls also needed to recognize the selected options correctly.
For Makriadis, the issue affected a visual part of diamond selection. Correcting the underlying identifiers restored the missing icons in the affected Greek-language interface.
Supporting Rings, Pendants and Earrings
The project included three different jewelry builder types, each with listing and detail pages to test.
This broadened the work beyond a single WooCommerce ring builder. The team had to consider how the selection experience appeared across rings, pendants and earrings, while also accounting for language.
A problem found in one shared product attribute could affect more than one screen. That made the relationship between product data and visible controls an important part of the work.
TPS’s testing and the Greek-language correction addressed this practical side of the project: making sure the jewelry choices presented to the customer were connected to the options recognized by the website.

The Outcome: Tested Builders and a Resolved Greek-Language Issue
TPS completed listing and detail-page testing across the ring, pendant and earring builders. The team also resolved the missing diamond icons in the affected Greek-language interface.
These are concrete development outcomes within the wider OpenCart-to-WooCommerce project. They show why multilingual jewelry websites need attention to product behavior as well as design and translation.
